Inherent Spectacles 2.0
I've always loved opposition and resolution. Rediscovering the joy of metallic paint and soft chalk pastel together, have begun this exploration. The pearlescent glow of metallic paint, the sensitivity of floral blooms seem in opposition to each other until one realizes that both entities spring from the earth. One hard and solid laying in-between the delicacy of roots ultimately blooming, growing, flourishing. Yet they work together in perfect harmony. In these newest pieces I have used acrylic paint as a subtle ground on cold press water color paper, soft chalk pastel and finally silver, gold and copper metallic paint to bring the work to a new level of beauty. The contrast serves to offset each other, embolden each other and happily, work as a cohesive unit in order to achieve this exciting new combination. The hard edges of the metallic paint and the very soft edges of pastel compliment and define each other. I am very excited about this new direction in my art.
